While I absolutely agree that some of the Ten Commandments represent civil society, mirror other religious texts, and reflect decent society, some are meant to establish religious control, as I wrote about in an article I published earlier on Friday, entitled “The Ten Commandments are Contrary to Jesus’s Message.” It includes a channeled message from the Archangels, in case you’re interested.
Furthermore, most other major religions have similar rules to live by, yet I seriously doubt the people pushing the Ten Commandments would be okay with posting Hindu, Buddhist, or Muslim religious scripture, regardless of similarities, do you? That’s why it’s better to keep religious doctrine in private, rather than public places.
In terms of petulant adolescence, I think a better example can be found in a group of people who want their way or no way, without regard to whether or not others agree, disagree, or are insulted by it, who expect others to follow their rules just because they say so, and who think they’re favored by their God and better than everyone else. Incidentally, I believe the majority of Christians disagree with this agenda of control and power over others, and I know God does. Best wishes.
