What Kind of Energy Should We Use?
The Archangels Redirect the Question
Like many, I’m concerned about the environment. I live in a sunny part of the country, and get people at my door, sending emails, and texting me about changing to solar energy, that the government is offering to practically pay for the cost of switching over. I’ve also read that there are going to be perks given to those who buy electric cars. I’m not necessarily opposed to these things, in fact, I continue to consider them, but they also come with warnings to read the fine print.
I’ve heard people say the upkeep and replacement on both of these options is very expensive, and if you move after going solar, you still have to pay something — not sure what or why — because you were the one who installed the panels.
Regarding electric cars, there is the question of whether or not the infrastructure is available to support them, how you have to stop long trips in hopes of finding a charging station, and it takes hours to recharge, assuming you can get in. If there are two people ahead of you, and it takes three of four hours to recharge your car so you can resume driving, that can turn a one day drive into two or three days. I’ve also heard that our electric grids cannot handle the overload of electricity use if the majority buy electric cars.
