I wanted to say that I think the point the Angels were trying to make by stating that life begins with the creation of the soul was in fact an attempt to make us consider that life goes way beyond what we humans consider it to be. Whereas I think you are correct that people are asking about when HUMAN life begins, I think the point is being made that perhaps we need to think beyond the human boundaries.
