The Archangels Say There’s No Such Thing
If you’ve read my work before, you probably know that I don’t practice any traditional religion. I was raised in a quietly Christian household, but as an adult, I began to question a lot of Christian ideals, and I eventually left the church when I found the answers that resonated with me did not comply with the Christian way.
This is not to say that I think Christianity is a bad thing, it’s just not right for me. I’ve long said that everyone should find what works for them, what brings them peace and hope, love and joy. If that happens to be Christianity or another world religion, if that means no traditional religion at all, if that means atheism, who am I or anyone else to judge?
All I know is that Christianity doesn’t work for me, so I don’t practice it anymore. Having said that, I know it does work for a lot of people, and despite the fact that Christians seem to be criticized and lumped into one big group, I know many Christians who are very good people and try to be kind and helpful to others. I rarely find someone who believes in everything professed in their religion, but that’s their business, not mine. Any time absolutes like “all” or “none” are thrown around or implied, as in “All Christians are hypocritical, sanctimonious, obnoxious, judgmental, etc. jerks,” the speaker…
