The Beauty of Spirituality

Its Very Essence is Individuality

Many people find comfort in religion, and that’s great. If a religion brings its followers joy, love, peace, and hope, and if it inspires kindness, I’m all for it, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s a good thing for those who benefit from it in those ways. Part of the draw of religion for some people is the structure involved, which is also fine. To each his or her own. Most religions have laws and rules they advocate and expect people to follow. Each church in a religion follows these guidelines, which is part of what labels them as a particular denomination.

If you visit a church’s website, you’re likely to find an explanation of what they believe and how they practice these beliefs, how they worship. This comes in handy for a lot of people, because they can tell at a glance if it’s a place where they might feel comfortable and want to frequent. It gives them an idea of whether or not they might belong. I’m sure that saves some time and guess work on the part of potential, new visitors.

Spirituality, on the other hand, doesn’t fit under labels and categories quite so easily, despite the attempts many people have made with that goal in mind. Spirituality isn’t so easily shaped or designed to fit quite so neatly, and really, the beauty of spirituality is that it leaves the shaping, measuring…
