Keeping Your Calm In Tough Times

Friday is my favorite day to write/post, because I always try to choose a positive, feel-good article to bring us into the weekend. I didn’t post anything yesterday, and it’s bothering me, despite having good reasons for not getting to it.

Some of folks think that, since I channel the Archangels, I’ve got it all together, I never get upset, and life is all sunshine and roses. I really, really wish that was true, but alas, it is not. I had to take my 93 year old mother-in-law to her first oncologist appointment after being diagnosed with breast cancer last week. For those of you who don’t know my story, my husband, her son, died almost ten years ago. People find it so strange that I not only still keep track of my mother-in-law, but we usually see each other a couple times a week. They wonder why, after a decade of being without her son, I’m still so involved with her. The answer is quite simple. I love her.

We’ve always had a good relationship, but after both our husbands died, we really bonded. She’s one of my favorite people in the whole world, right after my kids and grandkids. There’s something about being members of the Widows Club that is binding, and we’re very close.

Back to the topic … At 93, both of us know she doesn’t have a lot of time left on Earth. She’s ready to be with…
