Taking a Look in the Mirror

I’m Not Entirely Sure What I See

I’m a little torn this morning, literally and figuratively. I’m sensitive, because I had a medical procedure yesterday that turned out to be more good news than bad, so overall, I’m relieved, but I’m also feeling a little raw, so maybe that’s why I’m edging toward philosophical introspection.

I haven’t watched the DNC, but I’ve checked out the highlights, and I’ve listened to some of the speeches on YouTube. One of the speeches that I enjoyed was given by Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Walz, and I have to say, I was crying right along with him and his family when he called out his love and appreciation to his wife and kids.

This morning, while I was cruising through the article titles on my news app after I woke up, I saw where a Fox News person had deleted a post she’d put on X that bullied Walz’s young son for crying after his father announced how much he loved him and the rest of the family. The boy she attacked is just 17, and he has special needs. The backlash she received gave me a case of whiplash I’m still trying to deal with, and I want to talk my way through it, so you’ll understand where I’m coming from with this article. Please be patient, as I’m a bit all over the place with my thoughts.
