Such a thoughtful reply, Samuel, thank you. Good parents always struggle with how best to handle a multitude of quandaries, right? It’s the most important job we’ll ever have. I think fostering an open conversation with our kids is so important, and helping them think through possible answers to their problems. Listening is another skill we need to practice. Our kids have to have a voice. My babies are grown now and doing well. I’ll never stop worrying about them completely, but my job as a parent now is to support their decisions, rather than helping them to make them. We all make mistakes as parents, but we do the best we can. In hindsight, I might do things a little differently, but my conscience is clear knowing I did my best, and my kids always knew they could count on me and that they were loved. Not perfect, but I’ll take it. Keep doing your best, and it’ll pay off, I’m sure. Blessings to you and yours.
