Reconditioning #9: Seeking Truth
The Archangels Discuss Questioning Religious Beliefs
Being a retired teacher, I don’t ever mind questions. In fact, I enjoy answering them. When my students asked me a question I didn’t know the answer to, I tried to find out and get back to them, honestly admitting I didn’t have the answer.
When I started asking questions about my religious beliefs, I was afraid it was disrespectful. Luckily for me, I didn’t have anyone discouraging me from finding the answers to my questions. It wasn’t until I started hearing from people on Medium about terrible experiences and persecution they’d suffered in church and from church going people that I realized how prevalent that is and how often it happens. The shame is on them, not those who ask questions.
We’ve been conditioned to not ask questions, not only regarding religion, but about pretty much everything. Today’s article pertains to religious beliefs, but if you think about it, leaders, politicians, and pretty much anyone in power expect us to simply fall in line and do what we’re told. That’s not going to fly much longer, according the Angels. I asked them about questioning beliefs, and their response follows.
