Politician Can’t Understand Why Women Over 50 Care about Abortion
How Did He Get This Far in Politics or Life?
Let me start by saying this isn’t about political parties. It’s not even important which political party this guy represents, so I’m not even going to mention it. This is about idiocy and what needs to change in this world, if we’re ever going to move forward. It’s thinking like this that holds back people and progress and keeps us spinning our wheels.
Ohio’s Senate nominee, Bernie Moreno, spoke at a recent town hall meeting and just couldn’t seem to grasp why some women were making such a big deal about abortion rights, but that’s not the worst of what he said. He went on to say he couldn’t understand why women over 50 would be concerned about abortion rights at all, since “I don’t think it’s an issue for you.”
Aside from the fact that some women over 50 can in fact still get pregnant, it’s the entire line of thinking that needs to be readjusted. Using that same line of weird, ridiculous thinking, the following statements are just as valid:
- Since men cannot get pregnant, they have no reason or right to concern themselves about abortion rights, and they should stay out of it
- White people shouldn’t care whether or not minorities are treated unfairly
