On Minimalism
The Archangels Tell Us Why We Should Consider It
Oh. My. Goodness. I just watched the most interesting program on Netflix called Minimalism: Less is Now. It has the potential to be life-changing, at least for me. Let me explain.
I Have Too Much Stuff!
When I was a kid, we always had whatever we needed but not many extras. It didn’t bother me much at the time, because pretty much everyone I knew was in similar circumstances, and we were all in the same boat. We mostly came from middle class families, and our parents worked hard to make ends meet.
For me, that meant not very many and not very nice clothes, one to two pairs of shoes, one for church and one for school. We didn’t often have candy and other sweets in the house, and we never went out for dinner. As I got older, I began to wish I had more, and that has stayed with me to this day, until fairly recently.
Once I grew up and started working, I wanted to buy the stuff I never had as a kid. I overspent and lived beyond my means for years. Once I had kids, I bought them more and more stuff, stuff I never had. I realized I had a problem when I was cleaning out their drawers and found clothes with tags still on them they’d never worn.
