Mediation is great if both sides are open to it. My understanding from the Angels is that the people calling the shots and waging war against each other are not interested in finding a solution at all, mediation or otherwise, while the people who are being killed and watching from the sidelines - the majority of people - might be. The message is for the majority to reject the actions of the minority and unify to stop these conflicts, however, they do not think we are likely to be able to do so in time to help the victims in Gaza at this time.
Many of us have awakened to the need for change and the replacement of leaders, but we don’t yet know how to make that happen, and it’s the unity of the masses that can make it happen, rather than governments, politicians, etc. I know that’s not helpful to the people who are suffering and who are in danger in Gaza, and it’s frustrating to know what needs to happen - stopping the carnage - without knowing how to accomplish it, but that’s where we’re at right now. I know that’s not what you were hoping for, but there can be no solution if neither side is looking for one and only interested in retaliation and violence to cause fear and gain control. Even the best mediators can’t force people to be open to possibilities when they refuse to consider anything but their chosen course. As much as we want the war to stop, we can’t make anyone else do anything, and if they don’t seek to stop the violence, it will continue. The Angels stress that both sides are wrong, but until they see that for themselves or are replaced with people who seek a peaceful resolution and will accept nothing less, not much will change. It sucks, but there you have it.
