Lovely article, thank you. People get caught up in what if scenarios, and they act as if they’re common and threatening. Is it possible a trans woman could attack a woman in a public bathroom? It’s possible for anyone to attack anyone, but have you ever heard of it happening? I haven’t. Yet, ignorant, scared people act as though it’s commonplace, and think enforcing original gender signs will keep them safe from a hypothetical threat.

I’m a retired teacher, and I can attest that kids are kids, and ALL of them should be protected. In nearly thirty years years of teaching, I never saw any troubles from trans kids attacking anyone in a bathroom or otherwise. It was much more likely they would be treated unkindly, although that was beginning to show signs of positive change, at least among the kids, by the time I retired. Different is not the same as wrong, bad, or dangerous. Live and let live!
