I’ve wondered about this too, Sophia, especially after the photos came out, and there was no response from him that I saw. I don’t like the man based on his words and actions, but that doesn’t mean I can’t find compassion for him. He obviously had a lot of troubles to deal with as he grew up, too, with an addicted mother, an alcoholic grandfather, and a violent grandmother. He doesn’t get a free pass in my book for the harm he’s causing and intends to cause, but your theory added to the other factors I mentioned goes a long way in terms of understanding why he’s said and done some things. I think most of the MAGA people are crippled by unfounded fears and ignorance and are being manipulated. Thanks for the article and for promoting compassion. Blessings.
