I’m so happy for you, Jamie. Like you, I am closer to God than ever before, and I am joyous! I hope and pray everyone finds their way to this peaceful, rich feeling, whether they find it through church, Angels, the Bible, or any other source that resonates.

I think there are many paths to choose from; it’s just figuring out what works for you, and you obviously have.

To clarify, in answer to your questions, I don’t fear God, and I don’t believe people go to hell. The God I know is loving, forgiving, and never gives up on us. Although I’ve been to a few services that support this view, I think there are many others that bar their doors and judge people who choose different lifestyles or paths.

I believe God loves us all equally, regardless of race, religion, sexual identity, etc., and I just don’t want to be around people who think the vast majority of people are going to hell simply because they worship in different ways. I think God relates to people in the way that makes the most sense to them. I think there’s one God with many faces. That doesn’t fit in with any church I’ve found.

There’s not really a religious label for me, and that’s ok. I’ve never liked labels much anyway. The Archangels suggest when asked, I should say I’m a child of God who believes in Love. That works for me just fine.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Your joy and peace comes through clearly, and I’m so happy for you. I wonder if you’ve read any of Dan Foster’s work. He lives in Australia also, and if I ever visit your country, I’d like to go to the informal church he’s started with friends. He left his former church for similar reasons to mine, and his work reflects his love for God, even though he disagrees with some traditional church practices. If you’re interested, he started and writes under Backyard Church on this platform.
