I haven’t asked about self defense, although I’m guessing it would be understandable considering they’ve said nobody should be someone’s doormat. The article is very much about defending others who are suffering, and my struggle to balance that with a live and let live mentality.

My son is the one who got me thinking about it when he said I was addressing things, along with the Angels ( who he respectfully and lovingly doubts) through a western lens. He’s the one who posed the question to me about whether or not abuses to others, in particular children (he’s a new dad) should go unaddressed if it is part of a culture and belief system.

My understanding after I channeled was that it should be addressed, but not by using force. This is hard for me, being such a children’s advocate, because I can’t stand the thought of others’ suffering. It made me realize, however, that forcing change has never worked in the long term. War has never worked long term. People either rebel or conduct their actions secretly. If something doesn’t work, despite trying it time after time, it’s time to try something new, so even if it takes longer to convince or persuade people to change without force, it makes sense to play the long game. It’s just terrible in the meantime.
