I don’t like to judge anyone, but I sure don’t want Thomas judging anyone or anything. It would be bad enough if his actions were a lapse in judgment or a lack of realization, but I think he knew exactly what he was doing, or he would’ve disclosed everything. It’s bad enough that politicians are bought off, but a Supreme Court Justice? The good things he did for his family, like asking Crow to buy his mothers house renovate it, and let her live there for free, as well as asking Crow to pay the high costs of a private school education - or maybe it was Crows idea to do all that - do not cancel out any good things Thomas has done, but any good deeds he and/or Crow did definitely do not excuse or cancel out the corruption in doing them. Whether he steps down or is impeached, he should not be allowed to carry on his duties as he sees fit when he’s demonstrated such a lack of integrity and character. And obviously, someone needs to spell out the kind of conduct expected of them and hold them to it, because they certainly haven’t done a good job themselves. SCOTUS has completely lost the trust and confidence from the people.
Nobody is all bad or all good, but Supreme Court justices are held at a higher standard, or should be. I have a very hard time believing that either of these men acted with integrity and that there were no strings attached.
