I don’t know how often this happens, only that it usually takes several lifetimes to accomplish. Keep in mind that on Earth, we’re all souls experiencing life in a human body, so we’re not two different entities, but rather the same entity in two forms, so we’re connected. Kind of like ice and water; same thing, different forms. So what affects one affects the other. When we learn something as a person, our soul automatically learns it, too. Once a soul has learned all needed lessons through experiencing life in a physical form, there’s no need to take on physical form anymore, unless the soul chooses to do so for whatever reason. My understanding is that a soul can come back as a person to help with something or to serve mankind, but it’s not because they still have lessons to learn.

I think it’s hard for us as humans to understand the nature of soul and human self, because we don’t have the kind of knowledge our soul form has while we’re human. I’m just now beginning to understand that our soul isn’t better, stronger, smarter than our human self, it’s just different. Our physical bodies can act and experience things in ways our soul cannot, while our souls have abilities we don’t have in physical bodies. Back to water and ice being the same thing, but ice makes something colder, while water makes something wetter. Same entity but serving different roles and purposes. Make sense?
