I agree it will take money, but that alone isn’t enough. No one’s talking about exploiting anyone, here. It goes back to the old adage, about giving a man a fish vs. teaching him how to fish. Poor people need to be treated with respect, just like everyone else, and they rarely receive that from people. It means something. Too many people equate poverty with things like stupidity and laziness, rather than being trapped in a cycle with very few opportunities for escape. Everyone needs a purpose. If you allow and train them to do things for themselves, especially if you give them a chance to be part of the plan and process, you have a better chance of long term success.
