Hi, Kathy, good to hear from you! I think different words and actions work for different people. I’m sorry your brother is struggling, and I know that’s hard for you too. I think a good start is to invite more joy into your life, whatever it is that makes you happy, along with making yourself your first priority in terms of caring for yourself.

A good start is to spend ten minutes with yourself daily, just spending quiet time with yourself, figuring how you feel and why. Feel those emotions then try to replace them with joy and hope. Be kind to yourself and send love to yourself to combat the sadness, helplessness, or whatever. Sounds simple, but you’d be surprised what ten minutes of self reflection will do for you. He can set an intention also, like for clarity, guidance, comfort. Blessings to you both.
