Hey, Shoshana. Sorry if I came across as if I don’t value other religious beliefs. I respect all belief systems and I think they are equally important, although I don’t practice any of them. I kind of do my own thing. I think whatever inspires people to be kind and loving is great. This article singled out Christianity, particularly Evangelicals, because they’re at the heart of so much going on right now, at least in the US. My point was not to persecute or defend any group, but to point out that generalizations and absolutes about any group isn’t credible or acceptable and that it’s not okay to lump everyone under the same category based on a few from that group. Also, I was hoping to understand better and pass that understanding onto others in terms of why anyone tries to force their beliefs on others. Why can’t everyone just live and let live, you know? Although I still struggle with people trying to control other peoples lives, at least I have a better understanding that their motivation is based on fear and the hunger for power, and it doesn’t do any good to return their vitriol. That’s what I was hoping to share, and I’m sorry if it missed the mark. Thanks for your comment, and blessings.
