This is exactly why Yeshua hung out with lower class, struggling people and challenged the belief that rich people were loved by God and poor, sick, challenged people were being punished and deserved their circumstances. What I find even sadder are people today who live their lives in fear of God, that if they stray from the very straight, precise line they’ve been given, if they question anything, if they don’t blindly accept what they’ve been told, they will be struck down by God, if not in this life, then when it’s over and they are condemned to a hell that doesn’t exist. To these people, God is not an ally or a comfort, but a punisher. So, so sad, when in reality, we are loved unconditionally.
