First, thanks for the mention, my friend. I knew I was supposed to study Reiki, but I didn’t know why. I hadn’t started channeling at that time, but I had this strong sense, supported by a psychic who didn’t know I was interested in it but suggested that I was supposed to study it, and it led the way to channeling.
I love Reiki, and I’ve seen some very positive outcomes from it, but although I think it’s divine in nature, I think it’s just one of many practices that help you grow spiritually. It definitely did that for me, but that doesn’t mean it works well for everyone.
People say the same thing about yoga, but it’s just not my thing. Sometimes I wish it was, but nope! Just like there are different kinds of yoga, there are different kinds of Reiki, but most practitioners add their own methods that appeal to them, like crystals, music, etc. The thing is, even though I didn’t know much about Reiki, it’d called to me for years. It was part of my path, and although I don’t use it regularly, I enjoy it when I do.
It rarely works out well when you force yourself to do something that’s not comfortable to you, and really, there are as many ways to grow spiritually as there are people. One more thing, and I’ll let you go. I remember when I was learning and drawing the symbols (I’m horrible at drawing anything!), and I didn’t understand the significance or even why they were necessary. I knew Reiki worked wonders in some cases from experience, but as I’ve always considered Reiki as God’s energy, I didn’t understand why symbols were even needed. After I started channeling, I asked the Angels about whether or not they were needed. They explained that for some people, they’re not necessary, but that tradition should be honored when working within energetic practices, so I continue to use them out of respect.
I don’t think Reiki is any more sacred or holy than we are. I love, respect, and use it, but I think it’s the combination of Reiki, the person using it, God, the universe, and the combination of energy from all of these facets that makes it powerful. It’s the same for meditation, prayer, yoga, channeling, visualization, manifestation, etc. All of these things can be useful and lead to spiritual growth, and there are many methods and practices to choose from, so we should try different things and judge them by how we react to and with them. It takes trial and error to find what works for each person. The great thing is, there is no right or wrong way to proceed. Nobody’s going to mess anything up. When you find something that calls to you, that you enjoy, use it and make it your own.
Many blessings, Ted.
