Nurture Your Heart

It’s Friday. For many of us, that means a (very) short break from some of the things that cause us stress. I know it’s also when many of us catch up with running errands, cleaning house, getting groceries, etc. I’d like to make a suggestion. Set aside one day (or hour if that’s all you can spare), and focus on your happiness and well being.

I’m a Reiki master, and there are five principles associated with Reiki. There are different versions, but the general gist is as follows:

Just for Today …

… I will not be angry

… I will not worry

… I will work honestly

… I will be grateful

… I will be kind

The most important part of that? It’s all important, but the “Just for Today” makes it possible. No one can do those things all the time, every day. We can try, and we can do better, but we’re not perfect, and at some point, someone or something is going to break through our peace and make us worry or get mad. We can pull ourselves together again and refuse to get stuck there, but it’s going to happen from time to time.
