Every time there’s an adjustment in the partner program earnings, tried and true writers lose. I make a fraction of what I used to make on Medium, and I would wager that’s the opposite for the company profits, but if you don’t treat your writers better, you’ll fall. When greed is the driving factor, quality declines, which is what we’re all seeing as readers here, and those of us who have profited as writers here in the past are actively seeking alternatives. Yes, there will always be people who want to publish here, but if they’re not interested in being good writers, these pranks and tricks surface to try to make some fast cash, whereas serious writers seek to improve their craft and earn money fairly, based on the quality of their writing. I think Medium thinks writers are a dime a dozen, and that’s true, but good writers are harder to find, and you’re losing yours as quickly as you’re cutting our pay. If the company greed continues, if you continue to mistreat and disrespect your writers, you’ll continue to lose ground. It may already be too late.
