Do Y’all Know Jason Aldean?
He’s in the Middle of a Can of Worms
I love all kinds of music, including Country, and one of the top country music artists is Jason Aldean. He’s been on top for quite a while and has quite a few hit songs under his belt, several of which I’ve enjoyed. A year or two ago, he was in the middle of a feud having to do with something his wife posted on social media pertaining to transgender youth. If I recall correctly, she thanked her parents for not taking her for gender replacement surgery during her tomboy days and called out parents who supported their transgender kids. Yes, she really said that. Another country artist called her out for it, and the feud began. Ignorance has no barriers, apparently.
Now, Jason is in the news again regarding a song and the accompanying video. He’s under fire for the violence in the video for the song, Try That in a Small Town. I listened to the song and watched the video. The violence was straight from the news, and I didn’t take exception to it, because the US has become a very violent place, with mass shootings happening practically daily, it seems. It included police fighting with people in mobs, fire in angry crowds, mobs … about what you’d expect from the news.
What I did take exception to was one of the verses. It goes like this:
