I recently wrote an article about seeking truth as part of the reconditioning we might need to do to undo the conditioning we’ve been subjected to for years. I’ve read a couple of articles lately regarding deconstruction of Christianity. One was encouraging and supportive of the idea, pointing out the errors of some people and beliefs, and another was adamantly against trusting or believing anything that goes against the Bible, although he didn’t answer the question in the comments section about which interpretation of the Bible is the one we should follow.
There’s a lot of anti-Christian views on Medium, and I understand why, but I don’t agree that all people who identify as Christian believe the same things. In fact, I know they don’t. Also, I don’t think it’s just to blame God or religion for the many atrocities committed under those banners. It’s men who are behind these things, not God, regardless of what they profess.
I’m not attacking any religion and choose to address religion ambiguously with the intention of not targeting or criticizing it or the people who practice it. This is simply addressing whether or not it is alright to seek answers that a religion does not provide at all, or that the answers they do have do not resonate with the practitioner.
