Kindness Repaid Tenfold
I am, without a doubt, a woman blessed. I gave birth to two healthy children, my son, John, and my daughter, JoAnne. John, a mechanical engineer for Lockheed, married the most wonderful young lady, Bianca, and she proved the old saying true, that you don’t lose a son to marriage, you gain a daughter. I just love her! The two of them are blessing me with a beautiful, smart, perfect grandchild in January. Yeah, I know I haven’t met the little lovey yet, but I just know this baby is all of the above and more.
JoAnne, and exceptional nurse, has had two best friends since middle school, Sammi and Sarah, and the other girls’ mothers and I watched out for all three of our girls throughout the years. The girls had names for us all. I am Momma Jo, Sammi’s mom is Momma Herrera, and Sarah’s mom was Donna. The girls are in their late twenties now, and remain the best of friends, and I love all of them.
Sadly, Donna was killed in a motorcycle accident when the girls were in high school. We were all crushed, as you can imagine. Sarah stayed with her dad for a while, but there were problems, and she moved in with her mother’s best friend for a bit, but that didn’t work out either.
