I had a beautiful email from a new friend asking about shadow work, and I honestly responded that I didn’t know much about shadow work or dark nights of the soul, at least not as many describe them. He expressed interest in what the Angels had to say about this, so I asked them. Below is their response.

Question: What are dark nights of the soul and shadow work? I hear and read about them all the time, but I don’t really understand or relate to them. Can you please explain them?

Answer:

Humans and their terminology, along with the compulsive need for labels, is at the heart of the confusion about such things, as is often the case. These are more recent words to describe healing, more than anything else, along with some of the struggles some people have as they navigate the spiritual path. The terminology will likely change again in years to come.
