Technically, the article regarding the Ten Commandments that I posted last week was the first biblical text I invited the Archangels to comment on, at least recently, but that was before they suggested writing an entire series on passages in the Bible. The Sermon on the Mount, which includes The Beatitudes, comes from the book of Matthew, Chapter 5:3–12 and are considered to be a lesson in what is pleasing to God. The following is from the King James version. I prefer a more modern version for some things, but the King James version is hard to beat when it comes to beautiful quotes.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake…
