Bible Series #4: Sodom and Gomorra
With Commentary by the Archangels
The story of Sodom and Gomorra is well-known and often used as “proof” of the sin of homosexuality. You would think it would be remembered more for a father willing to sacrifice his daughters to strangers bent on rape, or rape itself, but homosexuality is the topic most associated with it. I asked the Archangels to comment on the story, and the following is their response.
Question: Can you please address and comment on the story of Sodom and Gomorra and how it has been used as an example of homosexuality being a sin?
Answer:
We will gladly address this, as it has been a source of much misunderstanding and used as a weapon of persecution. We will begin by saying that love between any two people who are consenting adults is in no way sinful. The gender, sexual identification, race, none of that matters, as long as the relationship is acceptable to those involved.
Before we address Sodom and Gomorrah specifically, we would like to say that, although parts of the Bible are true, all of it pertains to the times, places, and people from long ago, and so it is seen and written through that lens. We are not suggesting that none of it…
