Bible Series #11: Mark 13
With Commentary by the Archangels
Mark 13 is about Yeshua (Jesus) talking to his disciples about the coming destruction in the land. I’m going to summarize it, rather than reprint the entire chapter. Yeshua made the following ominous statements to some of His disciples:
- Not a stone in the great buildings surrounding them would be left standing
- The arrival of false prophets would come, claiming to be Him
- Wars would come to the land; nation would rise against nation
- Earthquakes and famines would come
- Persecution of His followers would happen
- Brother would betray brother and a father his child to death
- Abandonment of cities and loss of property causing hardship for the people (in particular, pregnant women and nursing mothers were mentioned)
Further, verse 26 states the following (NIV):
“At that time, people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.”
He further states that these things will happen before the end of the current generation.
