A Response to Jeff Hille’s Recent Article and Commentary
Yesterday, I read an article written by Jeff Hilles entitled Non-Theistic Satanists in Our Elementary Schools about an after school elective program being offered in Ohio. While I agree with Jeff that the offering is more or less a “Take that!” kind of deal in response to Christian programs being offered and a bit childish, I commented that this was a great example for why religion should not be part of public schools. While Jeff was not blatantly disrespectful, which I appreciate, his response to my comment had several points with which I disagree that I would like to address here. I wish to stress that this is not an attack in any way against Jeff or his Biblical Christian Worldview beliefs or religion, but rather a response to some points he made. At the end of the day, we can respectfully agree to disagree.
Jeff stated that the country has “strong roots in a Biblical Christian worldview,” I believe in defense of offering Christian programs in school as opposed to other religious offerings.
