Aging Gracefully
The Archangels Talk About Getting Older
I remember when I was a little girl, I would tell my mother I couldn’t wait to be a grownup. She would always answer, “You’ll be a grownup before you know it, but you’ll never be the same age you are now again, so you should enjoy it.” Wise words, not that I realized it at the time.
I also remember my parents talking about memories of different things, and my dad would say, “Lord, that was thirty years ago.” Whenever I heard him say that, I’d think, wow, that’s when you’re really old, when you can talk about stuff that happened decades in the past.
And here I am today, older, and I’d like to think wiser. I remember thinking when you turned forty, you were really old, and here I am, sixty. My perspective on age has changed since then. I see so many old people who are lonely these days, seemingly forgotten, and that makes me sad. If you follow me, you know I hang out a lot with my ninety-four year old mother-in-law, and we still have a blast! And I’ve learned so much from her over the years.
I asked the Archangels about getting older, and the following is what they had to say about it.
