A Mother’s Day Message from Mother Mary
Blessed are all mothers, for most were brave and willing to use their bodies as a safe place to bring more life into the world. Women are blessed with the ability to bring forth new life and it is an exceptional honor and blessing to do so. This is not to say that it should be a requirement or that if a woman chooses not to give birth to a child, it lessens her in any way. It does not. However, to experience this wonder of life reborn is a beautiful avenue for discovery and joy.
In my time on Earth, women were greatly undervalued, and it saddens me to see that this is still the case in many places. Women are considered the weaker gender by many, but this is untrue. Men and women are equally valuable and worthy of respect. People should be viewed as individuals with unique gifts, rather than strictly male or female. It is as inaccurate to consider women as lacking in fortitude and intelligence as it is to believe men cannot be nurturing and loving. These roles have been wrongly attributed to gender when all of these traits can belong to all people, regardless of gender.
However, since this is a day designated to honor mothers and motherhood, I will add my love and respect to all mothers and to all women. Being a parent is such an important job and an awesome and challenging responsibility. It can be greatly intimidating, to be sure. Yet, mothers face…
